Something different

I'm thinking of devoting a night of poker to the $5 sit-n-go. We'd start a six-person game as soon as six are available, so we could have 2-3 tables going at once. Each tournament would cost $5 to enter, winner take all. Remaining players can make a deal at any time. Allow rebuys for some time (e.g., first two level of blinds). Thoughts?

You name it, I'm there. Just as long as it isn't Triple Lowball!

That would be cool. We would need to define a pretty tight rebuy / add on period and rules for it. In that online thing i play from time to time, the rule is that you can rebuy anytime in the first hour as long as you have less chips than when you started. There are a few smart guys that limp in first hand, fold and then rebuy to have 2x chips on the 2nd hand. Also, how long would you expect a typically 6 person sit and go to last? For instance, you could cut off the rebuys after 30 minutes and still everybody could have 2X the buy in and thus the levels would need to go up crazy fast to get the whole thing done in say 1.5 hours or so.

Or only allow rebuys if you bust out or go below 50% of your starting stack. Otherwise everyone's going to be paying $10 (at least) since we'll all rebuy .

Well, I was thinking that the levels would go pretty fast, 10-15 minutes, and the starting stacks would be relatively small. With six (and being no limit) I think that each game wouldn't run too long.
